I write horror about people who own too much furniture.
I’m Chris Cooper, and I love to take my readers on visits to dark places — old Victorian homes with spectral issues, haunted worlds obscured by tree lines, and the carefully curated lives that mask grief, rage, and fear. Dreadful Media is the imprint I publish under; it is mostly me, my canine secretary, and an overabundance of caffeine. When I’m not writing, you can find me reading, roasting coffee, or burying bodies. I live in Cincinnati with my husband and two pups, Whiskey and Pete.
House rules
- The expected villain is rarely the real one.
- Some hauntings are staged.
- Gore is great in moderation.
- The scariest part of a house is its inhabitants.
